Crystals is a rather misleading term, actually, they are minerals. Minerals that may be in crystaline form or not. Many of the "Crystals" you find for sale in shops are actually massive forms of minerals with no crystaline structure visible, with the exception of the various quartz minerals which are readily available in crystal form. But despite this, crystals is the term most often used and so we shall use it as well. Crystals are used in many ways in magic, but mainly they are used to amplify the power released in a ritual by adding their intrinsic powers to the power produced by the magician or witch. In addition, crystals are often carried as a ready to use amulet for a particular purpose, or placed in the home where their vibrations will be a continuous presence and force for change.
